George W Bush is arguably the most hostile president in the history of the USA.
His foreign policy hostilities have alienated the USA from several European countries. At least his father was wise enough to actually build a multilateral force against Saddam Hussein when Iraq tried to take over Sudan.
His poorly planned, self serving war on Saddam Hussien (disguised as a war on terror) has painted a target on the backs of all Americans, Canadians and Australians (as well as their soldiers).
He doesn't know how to come up with a well-conceived plan. His "no child left behind" plan was a great idea in theory. It would be awesome to have our schools do whatever is possible to make sure that all children of all ethniticities and socio-economical backgrounds have a good change at going to school and doing well. The only problem is that George W decided that all the states should pay for his plan - at the expense of essential jobs such as police and firemen. George's law says that sending students to school is significantly more important than having enough policemen and firemen protecting the public. His poorly conceived plan did not include federal funding - not HIS problem.
He lies so often that he has no credibility. After the first election where the Florida Hanging Chads (who were not 21 years old and not registered to vote) placed him in office, he promised to reach out to the Democrats. If American held their breaths waiting for that promise to be delivered - we would all be dead.
He is unable to separate Church and State siding with the Religious Right more often than he sides with the American public he swore to serve.
The unfortunate thing is that years down the road, some people may hail him for freeing Iraq and setting up a democracy there. They will ignore all the harm he has done and how poorly he has run his administrations.
I have the utmost respect for the office of The President of the United States of America. I have absolutely no respect for the cold, callous, insensitive person who is abusing that office right now. Fortunately, due to our well conceived constitution, this too shall pass.
