In industry, I've always called a quick little brochure for an item a cutsheet. Somebody told me what he was looking for and I found it, but I still don't know why it is called a cutsheet.

Are you referring to a diagram with dimensions or a schematic with instructions for cutting?
Can be a diagram of a roll of carpet, indicating cuts for areas of a job.
Any diagram indicating the sizes of lumber to cut for a specific product.
Cutsheets are essential for a production line, such as prefab products. Although machinery can perform without those. Programmed like a PC.
