All that means is the baby pooped but you don't have to worry about that while you are pregnant but if the baby poops when your water breaks or at the time of birth it can cause respiratory problems. My son pooped and when my water broke it was green but he was fine and he doesn't have any problems. Don't stress yourself if your baby does poop the doctor will clean their throat and everything before the baby cries and suck it to their lungs

For my daughter and I, it meant a fever and a trip to the hospital. She was 7 days overdue and it made us both sick. They had to induce labor. After she was born, she needed an oxygen hood and alot of extra monitoring. We were fortunate though, and she only had to stay in the hospital 12 hours longer than me.

i am not really sure what it does to individual babies, but my nephew swallowed some in utero, and he was born with a bacterial infection and had to stay in the hospital for 11 days.
