Cyanocrilate based glues are permaeble to water molecules, so anything glued with super glue will start to get off at the prescence of water... warm water works faster

My mother got a big gift box with flowers glued on top of it, she wanted to re-use it so we used a hair dryer to melt the thick glue and remove it. This works for really thick glue that you can scrap off.

Try pure acetone. It's found in the nail polish remover aisle at any Wal-mart store or at beauty supply stores.
