Definitely. And for all the cynics out there, not everyone who is homeless is lazy. Some want to work. Maybe some of you have never seen a homeless child. I have seen too many to shrug homelessness off as a lazy "don't want to work" epidemic. Stop living the comfortable life sometimes and go talk to some of the people you sit in judgement of and you just might learn something and get a different perspective on something you talk about but have never experienced or seen first hand.
...and James E. F.... you might want to invest first in literacy classes. Its "buy", not "by".

Maybe. I don't know why some of these answers are assuming people are illiterate just because they are homeless. Well I would make sure me, my partner and kids have enough to live comfortably first. Next priority would be my sisters and my parents. After that, I would help out any of my other family or friends in need. Then I would donate a million to the most deserving charities(those would be the most deserving in my opinion) and that would probably include one or two charities or organisations which help homeless people. I know there are people who cause themselves to be homeless but there are plenty of others who are just that unfortuanate.
I would probably also do something else like maybe set up a new charity or buy affordable housing so these people could rent.
And by the way, why give them a job application? They aren't going to get a job if they have no address.

If I had ten million dollars. I would pay off my relatives mortgages so that they could never be homeless. I would donate money to some charitable organizations that would help the homeless as well as humanitarian efforts in Africa Asia and parts of South America. I would donate some money to my church for missionary work and publications. I would put some in trust funds to pay for my future children's schooling. I would also donate some to my alma matter to help school other good students. And then I would invest the rest of it in young people wanting to start their own businesses.

Yes I would, although in some cases I think homeless people make themselves homeless. There are some many charites out here looking and asking for help, it would be hard to choose. Take care and have a good holiday.

No. I would invest the money and give a percentage to those who are actually working. Some of the homeless want to be on the streets and I am not going to waste my money on people who make the streets unsafe and beg because they are lazy. Also I refuse to give money to anyone who is drinking alcohol or smoking. If they have the money to waste on these items instead of getting off the street then they do not deserve my money. Teach a man to fish, don't give him a fish.

Helping the homeless would be a worthy effort, but I would more likely set up a fund to assist abused children. There are opportunities for homeless adults, but children are victims of the enviroments they survive in.

Yes and no I already do a lot of charity work I would put it into services free health clinics, TEMP housing with a work stipulation, educational daycare ( No TV or Videos) as well as temp overnight help of food and shelter for the homeless as long as it also included counseling both for work and for the person.

F*ck the homeless. If they're still alive, they can still work. I'd rather use the 10 million to fund Cancer research or something like that.

Personally, I'd help the homeless out any way possible; as well as, anyone else less fortunate than myself!! Why would I be willing to do so? Because I know what it's like to be in want & most times; it shouldn't have been so.........but God in His Infinite Wisdom, woke my Dad up in more ways than one & he became a truly God-fearing individual til his time to return home to his Creator.
I'd also, help out all of my relatives as much as possible....on the other hand, I'd have to probably say "NO!!" to a few!! Especially, if the person(s) could help themselves fairly well, I'd have to stick to my decisions in such cases!
