Then i got my transcript back and failed another semester..i mean thats 8 classes of straight F's..my gpa is a 1.3..AH....so now i study constantly...im making a B in my summer chem class...but during the weekends when there's nothing left to study i sit at home and do nothing but paint my nails and occasionally go out to eat with my friends. No one calls anymore cause they are pretty much mad at me for blowing them off for school....i knowe they werent my real friends anyway but, gosh i sortas miss it. What do i do?

Growing up really does suck, but, unless your family is incredibly wealthy (like Paris Hilton), you'll have to start earning your own living one day. The easiest way to do that is get a good education.

Employers will punish you for not having a college degree even if you don't really need it in a certain position. It's boring going to school and maintaining good grades, but it's only for a little while. And, if you do well next semester, you won't have to go to summer classes. You'll be able to have some fun then.

It's really worth it in the long run because if you don't get your education now, you probably won't go back later. It's much harder than it sounds. You think school and homework sucks? Try school, homework, and 8 hours of a real job every day. You won't even have time to paint your nails.

Hang with it, and you'll make new friends who will help you balance your school and social life.

You seem like an "all or nothing" type of girl. It sounds like when you party you go all out and it adversely affects other parts of your life. You can still have fun but just try to do it in a controlled manner. If that doesn't work, keep doing what you're doing now and go back to the crazy lifestyle after you graduate. Enjoy the college life while you can though. I'm kind of going through the same thing myself and I'm trying to make sure I have no regrets when I graduate, academically and socially. Just try to keep a good balance.

Be proud of yourself for the imporvement of character, focus, and grades. Don't acept their 'anger' at you for being better off than you were before. Some people live to revel in others' failures and misery- it comforts them to know that at least they have company while at the bottom, and at least someone will always be like them or worse than them.
Realize that there is the opposite- at least you will have company when you reach the top, and there is always someone just like you (me!), and there will always be people better than you too.
Now, when you get friends, they'll be true friends- like attracts like- and they'll be people with respect for what you are and what you do. Otherwise, they wouldn't hang around you, as your old friends have proven.
Accept this 'loss' as part of your revision- new friends will come, hang on!

be proud for your adjustment of priorities, but remember to keep a balance in your life. play some.....just learn to play in other ways than the party scene...volunteer to work with kids, go to museums, go to the gym....things you like to do. I miss partying too, and I should be WAY over it but once in a blue moon, the girls and I leave our respective guys at home and have a girl's night out.
