The republicans are the party that put the most minorities in the highest positions of power in all of history.
So why do people blinly vote for a party that promises and never delivers.

I'm not so much answering your Q (thou it will address the Minority part) as suggesting "Olderandwiser" change their name. It was the Dem. Congressmen who tried to block the Civil Rights Laws in the House & Senate. Republicans introduced it and got it passed. The term "Southern Democrat" was in reference to the old boys club that did everything in their power to prevent colored people from getting ahead in the 50s&60s.
The KKK was the "terrorist" faction of the Democrat Party and the first black Congressman (1871) was a Republican (and former slave) Joseph Rainey, who served 5 terms before retiring.
Bush's Cabinet is the most racially diverse in History - especially compared to Clinton's overwelmingly white male cabinet.

The Democrats have always supported the minorities. Good Lord, all of the white people that marched in the freedom marches were Democrats, Not a Republican among them. They were too busy trying to maintain the status quo. As far as gays go, Democrats don't care!!!! If your thoughtful and caring and don't harm anyone why would you not be welcome? I can't understand how the Republicans can be so narrow minded. We are all God's children. I swear that the religious right has sucked the brains out of most( not all) Republicans. You are like sheep. Jesus weeps when He hears you.

Since Bush has been president he has tried to cut every program there is, pass Constitutional Amendments outlawing Gay marriages, while he violates the Constitution and thumbs his nose at the Supreme Court! Is he trying for another tax cut for the Rich again??

The issue is irrelevant over party affiliation. Most Northern Civil Rights activists in the 1960's were Republicans. However, today these people would be Democrats.
Parties change their beliefs. The point is that LIBERALS support gay rights, and most Democrats are liberals or lean that way.

republicans do care about minorities.. and instead of minorities listening they just automatically say that everyone is "racist" because thats the bullcrap easy way out... republicans just think minorities should contribute and at the least be here legally.. but apparently that is to much to ask.

They help minoroties every election with the "Get out the vote." They pay people $10 dollars to vote and bus them to the polling places.
And for gays they bring up legislation about gay marriage and then vote against it.
