What causes the isolation? Why are people so distant in a world of 6 billion?

Well the older you get the more friends move on with their lives and get further away for work family or whatever.
Also the older we get the more of them die off.
It takes years to get a good solid friendship with people.
Lose one or two and you are just left with acquaintances that may be ok friends but not true friends.

Too many of us spending our time alone talking to on line friends on these computer thingees.

I don't know why but i believe it. They blame it on the commute to/from work, working long hours, and technology.

I think fear of any type of committment plays a big part in this.
