There's too much up in the air this year. For the past couple or three seasons there have been one or two teams that, going into the Fall, looked like the main title contenders. This year there are too many to count. I think Auburn has a shot at running the table this year (like they did in '04), but this time they'll get the spot they deserve to play for the championship. But Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, Florida, Georgia, West Virginia, USC, Florida State, Miami (FL), LSU, and California all have legitimate chances of making it to the top of the heap. That's what's so great about college football! Every Game Matters!!!

I love your shout out to the Dawgs (that's who I root for), but I'm a realist. While they certainly have a shot, there are too many question marks left. Will Joe T. step up as the QB we hope he can be, or will true freshman Matt Stafford win the job and lead us skyward for the next four years? Will our young receiving corps all meet their expectations? Will the defense continue to dominate, even with significant losses in the secondary and linebacker units? Coach Richt is incredible, but can he truly lead us to our fifth top ten finish in a row? Let's hope so.......

It's too soon to tell, but if I had to put money on a team right now, I would either go with Ohio St. or Florida.
I also believe West Virginia will surprise some people and finish the season in the top 5.
College football isn't going to be as fun to watch this year, with my team(University of Miami)stinking up the place.

The Ohio State University. We have two guys who can easily win the Heisman (quarterback Troy Smith and receiver Ted Ginn Jr.). Our offense will be remarkable. We got close to 700 offensive yards against Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl last season while kicking their butts. Our defense got depleted in the NFL draft, but like most people know, at Ohio State, we don't rebuild...we reload.

Yeah, the Gators schedule as easy as possible. I'm going with Oklahoma though. There are about five of the top ten guys in next year's draft on that team!

i don't really agree with uga. or ohio state, though they have the potential.

i have to say notre dame. and its certainly not unfortunate. charlie weis has impacted the team hugely in one year and brady quinn is improving so fast! samardzija, walker, and zbikowski will also do tons better. im sticking with notre dame. GO IRISH!

To the OSU poster..

Ted Ginn had trouble showing up last season. His mind-set is still on his freshman year. I'd bet you money that derrick williams (if healthy) will outshine Ted Ginn.

Who I think is gonna win...

This season: OU

ND/OSU/PSU have too hard of schedules to allow them to make it to the championship game. WVU, even though I think they will be great contenders, will flop (like last year's Louisville).

Next Season: Penn State baby!!!

Iowa has a shot if they can get through OSU and Michigan.
Otherwise, I think we will see a Big Ten school at the top this year. Probably the frickin Buckeyes.
