No. However, a court order is going to have more weight than a thousand answers here. You need a lawyer. Your welfare office may have one who works for free - they would rather get him to pay child support than for us taxpayers to pay for your child.
He could claim he didn't mean it, that he didn't love you, that he "isn't ready", that you lied about being on the pill, too, but if he didn't want to have a child he should have kept his pants buckled.

Interesting question. The reverse argument could be made. Is it right that the woman aborted the baby when the man wanted her to keep it? Men don't have any rights in this country when it comes to a child and it sucks. "Its the womans decision" What if its the wrong decision?

No - child support is for the "child" and all children have a right to it. Children are innocents and they should not be forced to live with less simply because the sperm doner wanted Mummy to have an abortion but she decided instead that she wanted to have the child. Regardless of if he wants to be a part of the childs life he is financhially responsible. He made the choice to have sex and it always comes with the risk of pregnancy he accepted that risk.

The answer is NO. Regardless if he wanted an abortion or not he, as well as you, could have prevented getting you pregnant. Therefore, he is responsible and should help raise the child, whether financially or physically. No judge , in their right mind, will see this in any other manner as I do. I say, if he doesn't want to be a part of his child's life...THEN TAKE HIM FOR EVERYTHING HE HAS!

Why not, if the woman wanted an abortion he would have no say in the matter, why cant the fathers have rights too if they dont want to take care of a kid?
i dont want to hear that crap about keeping it in his pants, it takes TWO people to make a baby, we as women have the right to protect oursleves or say no as well, its not all the man's fault.
Also, there are so many women out there jsut to pop one out and get paid, i think it is really wrong.

Sadly, no it isn't right...but right and what the system will most likely do are 2 things. If he wanted her to have an abortion and she didn't, and he gives up all rights to the child, then he most likely will not have to pay child support.

Not, he helped make the child, it's the woman's decision for the abortion, it's her body, he's at just as much fault as she is for creating the baby, so he should have to help support the child.

Depending on what state you live in, parental rights can not always be terminated unless another party is adopting the child. so the support obligation is mandatory and permanent.

No it isn't. He doesn't have the right to choose after he makes the decision to take that risk. He knows the risk when having sex with someone. Whether it is getting her pregnant or getting a STD. Everyone knows the risk.

No, he still is the father of that child regardless if he didn't want it or not. He should have thought about the pregnancy issue before he dropped his drawers!
