I always remember a face but am lousy on names. Subjectively, I like my face recognised after just one short meeting and am not too fazed if someone doesn't know or remember it. Often, it's not mentioned anyway.
However, in many areas of business and commerce, it really is important, most times, that you remember someone's name.
In matters concerning the opposite sex it can sound the death knell on a developing relationship if you don't recall the name of someone you were chatting up. However, if you're charming enough and can think on your feet then this can often be repaired or glossed over.
On the name forgetter's side is the fact that a face is unique and therefore easily differentiated from others. Most names aren't unique and are therefore easily confused. If I say Susan, David, John or peter, you'll most likely come up with nothing due to information overload or the fact that noone in particular springs to mind. However, if I say Rock, Mahatma, Kelsey and Rip, then most people will add the surnames (Hudson, Ghandi, Grammar and Torn) as these names are fairly unique and most of us would have no trouble placing at least half the faces to the names.
Hope this helps.
Sigmund.

A FACE!! It's easy to forget names since they are just names but a face?! A face is truly memorable. That's why God made all of our faces different. I think it is more important to remember a face because you remember them as an individual but a name? Various people can have the same name..

Remembering name is important ,if you work in an office. If you are able to call all staff by name you will be popular.Remembering faces is more important in social events and gatherings. But if you remember face normally you will rember name also.Try to remember both.

remembering a face is okay...
BUT, if you can remember the name of that face, you are off to a great start!
There is nothing sweeter than the sound of your name being uttered by another person's lips. It makes the other person feel special. think about it!

God let Adam name all the things around him so that he could own them. Names are your parent's way of laying claim to you. Changing your name is a way to lay claim to yourself.
I think it's more important to remember faces, coz I see too many people in one day to get all the names straight!
