No, I don't. If you recall in the first minutes of the game he called a yellow card on the German player. Overall, it was an excellent game between two really good teams that had a referee that let them play. That's as good as it gets.

the ref was in favour of germany - this was due to his biased (prejudiced) view of the argentinan players....
To trini-chop the yellow for maxi rodriguez was for diving which was fair. But all the patting the refs back - which the germans do alot of is inappropriate.
However Ballack should also have had one (yellow) for diving as well in the argentinian box (but didn't) - just a foul for arg. ! It didnt change the result of the game - but Odonofor fake dive gave the germans the free kick that resulted in tieing the game....
Reffing needs to be checked by simultaneous video replay and a second ref...or something
Nevertheless Arg would have prob lost anyway since Pekerman made poor subs and also they lost heart too. germany (they have always had a high standard) did well all in all - against a more gifted side
PS this is not whining (for all you poor unsportsmanlike Germany supporters! - just stating observations - so get with the program and behave
PPS I am not even an Argentina fan fyi

They *always* favor the home team, and this game is even more proof. Sure, he called some right, but most were in favor of Germany whether they deserved them or not. The German who took out Abbondanzieri didn't get anything, and the goalie's hip injury was bad enough that he had to be subbed out (there's no way he would fake it in a game about to go to penalties!). Argentina's too poor for FIFA to favor. Alas, the Cup will go to the smug Europeans or the Brazilians again. What a surprise. [/sarcasm]

I'm not German or Argentinian, but I think that the ref was definitely on Germany's side. There was a penalty that should have been called against Germany, when a German player tripped an Argentinian on the penalty zone, and what happened??? The ref gives Maxi Rodriguez (if I'm not mistaken) a yellow card. I believe that FIFA already picked who they want to go to the finals.

Stop whining.. it's over. Germany won, Argentina lost. If anything, the refs calls (biased or not) wouldn't have affected the outcome, when it came down to the PK's because both teams were evenly matched (esp in extra time). Bad luck to ARG for losing their good goalie, and YAY for GERMANY! :)
