To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether it's by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life breathed easier because you have lived...is to have succeeded

Wow, tough one. I think I am still trying to find the right balance. And as life goes on and changes - people coming and going, jobs and residences changing - our focuses and goals change, which means that fine balanxing act becomes disrupted. Every time I think I am in a better place to make changes to give my life a work/me/family balance, something comes along and disrupts it. I guess what gives my life balance is making sure I don't sweat the big stuff and that I don't forget the little stuff. That's what I do to make every day better than the last.

Play and self expression,...

I am a complete Gemini in every sense,...I need the duality of the goofy girl that loves to scream out bingo numbers (as if everyone is playing along) in restaraunts for no definable reason,... and the solidity and strength of the woman who takes writing and poetry very seriously, giving her whole self and even more at times to the serious weight of the world on her shoulders.

I find most people really don't have that balance in life, beacause they are so trying to attain someonelses (someone they usually look up to seriously) idea of who they should be, or because they don't yet have a clear picture of who they are.

My balance works for me because, as the little girl part of me redefines my style and light heartedness, the adult and sometimes too severe and dramatic woman in me takes stock of it, writes it down and remembers to pay the little girls light bill, and get her in bed on time,...metaphorically speaking ofcourse, I don't have two personalities,...

Yes You Do,...

No I don't dammit!!!

LMAO

Often it can be something very simple that I do just for me... a walk, a good book, learning something new (online or in a classroom), an hour of shopping on eBay... or if I need more than just a quick fix and I'm due for a major over-haul then we're talking weekend away (and yes, everyone can do this if they need to...you don't even have to leave town...grab a stack of your favorite magazines and your favorite candy...I recommend DeBrands better than Godiva, I swear!...and go to a motel for the weekend for some down time).

Balance? Do you know of anyone that REALLY has balance?

I used to, but these days. I keep tilting over to the right side. I think it's because the right side of my brain is getting fat.

Loving my girlfriend completely and without abandon... and having interests seperate from each other. I bring something into her life that she has never experienced (use your imagination now), and she brings things to my life that I've never experienced (again, use your imagination). By the way, I'm 49 and she's 27... I bring knowledge from my generation, and she from hers. I don't know why exactly, but it seems to work just fine. I'm just not going to analyze the hell out of it.

Nothing and I really wish something would,

Also If I wanted you to make a rude comment to me on my question I would have asked for it.

If you go through life with this attitude you won't have to worry about sending that many Christmas cards...

I think being able to see when to step back and take a break. Getting enough sleep. Taking care of my body. Eating when I'm hungry, talking to people when lonely, resting when tired. Taking care of things as they come along.
