Hi, I know its tempting but I wouldn't keep it since its not the right thing to do. You could put up a notice that you found cash and hopefully the person will claim it say the correct amount. However, if after a long time no one claims it then its considerd public property and you can keep it. To help your conscience at this point maybe give some of it away to charity.

If I seen someone drop it I would tell them but if I just found it with nobody around I would bring it home and look in the news paper for about a week to see if any ones reported it being lost or anything

Technically the right thing to do is to turn it in but if that were me, I wouldnt know what to do either. I I wouldn't even bother going to the police to report it for 2 reasons- #1. I would consider it to be permanently lost. #2. I would be too embarassed to admit that I lost the money. #3. If a good samaratin turned it in, how do I know that the cops will pretend as if they don't know anything about it and keep the money for themselves?

I think it depends on where you found it... if it was laying on the ground in front of a home or business or something, I'd try to check into it, but if you found it on Route 66 with some tumbleweed blowing around it and no sign of life for 100 square miles, I say, "Shopping spree!!"

in case you come across some funds with some type of id with it, then you certainly've a incredibly good thought of who it belongs to. and of direction you ought to make an effort to discover that man or woman. in case you notice a man or woman drop some money, then, back, you recognize the place it got here from and additionally you ought to return it. in case you come across a single invoice on the floor, or highway, or interior the park or everywhere, this is futile to attempt to discover the landlord because of the fact genuinely everyone you ask will declare it. shop it. i found $20.00 in a paper financial corporation envelope one time and because there became no id on it, I spent it on some lots-mandatory groceries. I did stick around for a couple of minutes to confirm if there became every physique finding for some lost money. i might have given it to them in the event that they asked. yet no person did.

I would hold it for a while like about a month cuz the serial numbers may belong to the bank or something and they can track it thats what the #'s are for. But I wouldn't turn it in right away.

MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS KEEP IT, THEN I STARTED THINKING ABOUT IT
THINK I WOOULD TURN IT IN,,
I WOULD PROBABLY PONDER.. THINK ABOUT IT A DAY OR SO, AND ASK THE POLICE IF ANYONE REPORTED ANYTHING STOLEN ON LOST..

IF IT WAS FROM A DRUG DEALER,, I WOULD NOT TURN IT IN]
IF IT WAS FROM A PERSON OR FAMILY AND IT WAS A SERIOUS TRAMA, I WOULD TURN IT IT,

I THINK IM GOIING BACK AND FORTH ON THIS,

I REALLY NEED MONEY RIGHT NOW , TODAY , IT IS ALMOST AN EMERGENCY.. I REALLY WOULD NOT LIKE TO BE FACED WITH THE TEMPTATION, BECAUSE I WOULD KEEP IT.

IF I WERE FINANCIALLY SECURE, I WOULD TURN IT IN, OR DONATE IT TO A GOOD CAUSE

THAT IS A TOUGH ONE.. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DECISION..

Nope, wouldn't turn it in. I'd keep it. Not my fault the person walking around with the wad wasn't responsible enough to hold onto it. Finders keepers.

Turn it in to the police. It's likely crime related and not a good thing for the previous owner to find you with.
