I'm trying to stay with in my financial-aid price range without adding to my student loans - is it really worth the money you save?

Try a MacBook. You can run BOTH windows and mac os!

Depends on what you wanna do. If you are after business application software, no. If you are after graphics software and multi-media work (i.e.) sound studio, making movies & etc., then yes.

But in the long run, for student work in college, you will not save money with an iMac. As much as it pains me (I'm a Mac exclusive person), get a PC

I wouldnt go with anything else from Apple except for the IPOD. The Ibook works great and it never crashed on my like my IBM and Dell.

and ibook g4 is good or try a lower scale dell inspiron
