Hi, I would want it to. But in reality that would be unfair. People have choice, and if they chose to harm themselves then so be it. But it shouldn't be at the expense of others- in a public place, where other people recieve the second hand smoking.

No. By prohibiting smoking at public places you are limiting smoker's rights. that's not fair. if non-smokers don't like that - let them stay at home. That's the same question as should we prohibit nudity on TV. Each of us has a remote control , so it's up to us whether we want to watch or change the channel.

1. Private businesses are not public property (if it was, we'd have communism)
2. Open air is not guaranteed to be breathable (if it was, we'd have fascism)
3. If you are going to ban cigarettes in public, simple logic requires you to ban all automobiles, landscaping equipment, sick people (their expiration spreads germs) and much more FIRST.
Wake up America, the liberty we've agreed to have in this land is at the price of higher risks, big and small.

Absolutely. Smoking is a disgusting, foul, and stupid habit. I have no problem with smokers killing themselves with their habit, but nobody else should have to suffer because of it. I personally am highly allergic to cigarette smoke and being in the presence of second hand smokers makes my sinuses ache and makes me visibly ill. I try to stay away from them as much as possible, but it would sure help me out if smoking in public was illegal!

Not outdoors!!!!! I am a smoker and I can understand banning inside, not happy about it but I can. Outdoors is a different thing. Set up ashtrays and let us smoke outside.

Absolutely not. Not only is it infringing on smokers' rights, but there are an awful lot of establishments who would lose over 50% of their revenue due to loss of patronage, including casinos, which bring tax revenue to the city and state.

I think it should. There are too many people with asthma and allergies who can't breathe around smoke and jepordizing other people's lives is not acceptable. You are not allowed to drink and drive for the same reason.

It depends how you define "public places"? If you mean sidewalks and streets, then no. eventually smoking will die a natural death, as more and more people realize that it kills them.
If you mean bus stations and bars, well, many states already disallow that.

YES. I know there are freedoms we have, but do we need to smell like smoke just because someone else smokes?????
