My husband of one year is not really good with showing his feelings for me..he does a lot for me and he helps around the house. Can't complain about sex it's all good but he won't tell me that he loves me he acts like he is the macho man:(
Today he called the readio station and wished me a happy B-day and said that he really loves me .
That's the best present ever but(there is always "but" w/women:) my question is why did he do it on the radio? Was it easier for him to say it on the air or he did it to show off?
I want opinion from guys, please don't be gugmental.I feel bad that I can't figure this out by myself.

We men have a difficult time expressing "feelings". We're conditioned not to and I think by nature we have a harder time than you ladies expressing feelings. Ask us what we think and it's a different story. It's also hard for some of us to express the three words "I love you" face to face, so we find other ways. Generally the more macho the man, the less you'll hear that.

Your hubby is one of those macho guys that finds it hard to volumize his sensitivity. He's pretty much who he is and you married him because you love him.

He might feel uncomfy with vocalizing his love for you because he may have been brought up to learn doing so is a sign of male weakness....hence the macho man thing.

Broadcasting his feelings on the radio may be a small positive first step you seek towards his being more intimate vocally.

It's only been a year too, honey, so I'd give it some time and be prepared for any chance he'll become a more intimate sensitive man to come in perhaps a few years.

The best thing to do in a relationship is to talk. Although it may bring up some potentially bad feelings or topics, if you talk to him about it and tell him how concerned you are, he should at least understand and try to reason with you. If your lucky, he'll tell you why he doesn't say "I love you" very often, or he may even try to fix it. My guess is, like most men, he's afraid that if he gets all luvy-duvy he may be considered less of a "man" which isn't true at all. Besides, his way of loving you may be through actions more than words. But you can only know for sure by talking to him. Don't make assumptions.

He is a macho man, not in touch with his emotional sensitivity, however, he lets his actions speak for themselves, the more he does the more he is expressing his love for you...and calling the radio station is a step out of the box for him and an example of that extreme he will go to prove his love....share your expressive ways and perhaps he will return the affection in the same manner.

You need to talk to him about this. He may have looked at calling the radio station as romantic. Let him know that it was but that hearing it from him while he stares into your eyes would mean so much more to you. Tell him you want to make passionate love to him and drive him wild in your birthday suit. Hopefully he'll want to do the same and you will move forward in a positive way from this point. Good luck!!

Some guys were raised in families that never touch, hug or kiss. Their dads told them men don't cry and they never said anything mushy like "i love you". Being raised in this atmosphere breeds more of the same in adulthood. I'm guessing that's the case with him. Tell him how that radio announcement made you feel, better yet, show him. Let him know it's OK to say and do that stuff. He might come around.

Damn, woman, waddaya want? He is giving, sharing, caring, and GIB, and romantic enough to call a radio station and announce it to the world. If you wanted some nambypamby Hallmark Card of a wussy, you probably married the wrong fellah.
Be grateful.

I think that he did iy on the air because it is always easier to say something if you're not looking that person in the eyes. And there isnt going to be an weird silence after you say it.

P.S. hope everything works out for the best!!!
