Ladies, what do you think of NEOCON men in power dictating what you can do with your body?

I'm talking about the abortion issue for those of you who need further clarification.

So the question is; When does life begin? a certain trimester, what?

I don't know where they get the idea that women use abortion as birth control and are just out there whacking fetuses every month. I would give anything to have a child but if I were faced with a life threatening non-viable pregnancy I would hope that I would be able to receive safe competent medical care rather than have to seek the services of some shaman with a coat hanger or an herbal tea. Women have been terminating pregnancies for good reasons since the dawn of time and will do so til the end of time as needs be. Abortion is not wrong...forced full term pregnancies for 12 year olds carrying their own siblings is wrong...under certain state laws an abortion is not attainable even in the case of incest...no exceptions...now how is that healthy?

I think they need to let women only vote on what should and should not be allowed. Think about it realistically, when a woman gets pregnant and she doesn't know what to do she'll ask the father (usually). Well, if the father wants it and the woman doesn't then ultimately it's up to her and if she gets rid of it, the man has no say because it's not his body. Same thing the other way around too, if the guy doesn't want it but she does then again it's all up to her. Now knowing that a man REALLY doesn't have ANY control over what a woman does with her body, then they should make all law's etc pertaiing to abortion with women only votes.
On a seperate note, If anyone makes abortion illegal it's just going to make things worse because women will always find a way to abort a baby if that's what she wants to do weather it's legal or not. I think it should remain legal and leave the decision to the woman.

I am from Louisiana where our DEMOCRAT govenor recently signed a bill outlawing abortions when a woman has been raped or in the case of incest, if Roe v Wade is ever overturned.
So it isn't just Republicans, NeoCons, wacked out right wing Christian fundies, etc.. that believe they have more of a right to a woman's body than the actual woman does.

They say these woman who get raped should just carry the child to term and give it up for adoption and refuse to let gays adopt, so there are just more children that will become a burden on the state and taxpayer.

I'm sure if some of these politicians daughters were raped, their opinions would change very quickly.

They can dictate all they want but until they grow a pair of ovaries and start producing an egg every month they will never have any real control over the abortion issue.
Besides the NEOCONS are ok with killing the children of mothers in Iraq?
Personally, I'd never do it but who the hell am I to decide the future of another woman and her unborn child?

I think that the government has too much control over individual freedoms, whether we're discussing abortion, religion, or school funding. Kind of contrary to the old Republican "small government" party line, don't you think?

Edited to say that I'm tired of people lumping everyone into huge groups ie "liberal" and "conservative" and then making huge generalizations based on such groupings. I consider myself to be a fairly liberal person, yet I personally wouldn't have an abortion. Do I think abortion should be illegal? Absolutely not. It's a personal decision. So for those of you who are screaming about the liberals having blood all over their hands, please think again. I don't accuse all conservatives of having blood on their own hands due to loss of lives over in Iraq.

I find it ironic that religious NEOCONS are allegedly all for the government not intruding into the personal lives of people and yet they are intent on having government intrude into our personal lives when it comes to the freedom of choosing what you can and cannot do with you own body, or what we can and can't do between consenting adults in our own bedrooms.

WHY allow anyone to stop the process--- no morning after pill no abortion at anytime for any reason.

They actually aren't doing anything about it... they are just saying they are going to do something to get the vote of the "moral majority"... kind of like how they are doing with immigration and gay marriage...

The time for 'choice' was when you decided to have sex. Killing the human baby inside you is a reprehensible method of running away from the consequences of your actions.

Why should a baby pay the ultimate price just so that a woman can keep on spreading her legs? If women want to carry on like sluts and sleep with every Tom, Dick and Harry, maybe they should just have themselves spade and neutered.
