You can do it two ways. Go and buy an oil filter wrench. They are only a few dollars. If you don't have any extra cash you can do it with an old rubber or leather belt and a pair of pliers or vise grips.
Wrap the belt around the filter then clamp down on the slack end of the belt. Twist the pliers to take out the slack and then pull the pliers around the filter. The bel will grab and twist the filter off.
It's much easier to buy the wrench.

Get a self-adjusting filter wrench. It will continue to tighten down on the filter as you provide leverage. Eventually something will give and come off - not the wrench. You may tear the filter off. In which case, get a pipe wrench and remove the filter stem.

you just need the oil filter wrench that fits ur filter...
I am assuming the wrench yo said you tried was one of them... if so, then I know your problem... if NOT, then try it. it looks like a handle with a round strap at the end.. just go to the autoparts store, they'll show u it...
If you already tried that, its cause whoever put the current filter on tightened it with a wrench not simply hand tighened.
Filters need to be hand tightened when they are put on, because they HEAT up and create what is known as a Mechanical Seal... if this is the case, go to the mechanic, he needs to use special tools to take it off, because its almost the strength of WELDED on if this is the case

stab all the way through it with a flathead screwdriver and use that to turn it. Of course oil will leak out for a minute so have a drain pan ready.
