The answer my OBGYN gave me to that was because it was raising nerve endings closer to the skin, and made you have an "itching sensation". He later concluded I had PUPPPS, which is very rare, and happens usually in first time pregnancies where the woman went from really small to really large, like me 90 to 160 pounds, or with twins. Doubtful you have that though, it's intense and you would have done a lot more complaining by now!

However, if you begin to have it on more than just your stretchmarks, for instance your wrists and/or ankles, have it checked out.

massage with almond oil.it will help them to lighten as well as reduce the itch.
