I'm not sure if I'm going thru menapause, my periods have been real irregular if at all.

You might be going through menopause. If you aren't having any period at all that means you aren't ovulating, so I would think that you getting pregnant wouldn't be an option. You should talk to your obgyn and ask her just to be sure - and she could probably better tell you if you are going through menopause or if you might be having some chemical imbalance that is causing you to have irregular periods.

That is why in the days before birth control was readily available, there were so many "change of life" babies. I've heard that you should be without periods for one full year before you consider yourself finished menopause. Even then, everyone is different. If you have any pregnancy symptoms, get tested. Otherwise, be very careful if you don't want a bouncing baby in the autumn of your life.

i've heard of a 70 year old woman have a baby, dont know how, but it was in the guinness book of world records. anyway, no offense, but I think 47 is a little old to have a kid.

you still could get pregnant, you could be starting to go through menopause, my mom is 56 and has been going through menopause for about 4 or so years. i would check with your doctor

its not likely if u have been having hot flashes or skipping ur period u would probaly have menopause it starts around 45 or older so ur at that age

you can go to the local drug store. they now have a test to see if you are in menapuse.
