They're going to basically pull rank. Like when you're playing spades(card game), spades are the trump suit. A spade "trumps", or is higher/more powerful than a card of any other suit.

Uts from a game called UKER. or EUCHRE trump means they have a card in suit that is higher than yours. therefore they get the point. Basically they are beating you int he worst way possible in the game of cards.

they are going to out do you or one-up you or "do you one better"
like in cards if you are playing "spades" then a spade is a 'trump' card meaning that even if somebody plays the Ace of Hearts and you play a 2 of spades, then you win b/c your card trumped his.
