Drink lots of water
Do not use baby oil it mkaes your body feel hotter as it just sits on your skin
I use aloe vera gell under my sunblock in the morning
and I shower at night using dove mosturizing body bar and curel lotion at night before bed
this helps me
if I don't keep up this routine I get dry cracked skin
but if I do this i have nice smooth soft skin

1)Stay out of the sun.
2) Drink water.
3) Shower at night and moisturize your entire body as soon as you finish PATTING yourself dry.
4) Don't smoke or drink alcohol - they are extremely drying to your skin. (avoid smokey situations as well)
5) Never itch your dry skin - only rub it. (Never pick at your skin either)
6)Keep your hands away from your face as much as possible - this is just a good general hygiene rule. Your hands are exposed to all kinds of bacteria daily - keep them away from your face!

If your skin is more "crusty" dry then you need to wash it more often. Alot of times this occurs on hands.

Hope this helps.

apply sesame oil or a non-greasy lotion or body creme right when you get out of the shower or bath while your skin is still wet. also try alow on skin that is dried out from the sun-- your skin will suck it right up, so reapply reapply. also, protect your skin in the first place from drying and burning with lots of sunscreen and hats, etc. you can also try an intense body creme (eucerin makes a good one with alpha hydroxy) on your arms and legs at night. for extra extra dryness, put the body cream on your arms and legs at night and then wrap them in saran/plastic wrap.

Apply lotion every morning after your shower/bath. Also, make sure you use sunscreen. Coppertone and others now sell the non-coconut smelling spray stuff. It works wonders.
