i have a 1978 fiat x1/9 it is a mid engine, so the front hood is like a trunk. the front hood release broke, it also opens away from the windsheild. does anybody know how i can get it open without using the hood release?

raise it up over by the windshield. is what my husabdn told me if he is wrong let me know. personaly i dont know anything about cars.

If it has a cable you may be able to cut the cable and grab the inside with needle nose pliers and release the hood. but it depends on where the cable broke.

That may be a toughie. Have you tried crawling uner the car to see if maybe you can release it through the underside? Other than that...i dont know...Sorry. Good luck!

Reach up underneath the hood and pry it up with your hand or a tool.

can u get ahold of the old cable with a pair of pliers?
