They did not play to begin with. Argentina was too strong a team but they did get back into the match. And they won!! They have shown me how good they can be. That is Germany for me.

They were both very strong teams.. regardless that Argentina lost two players, the point is Germany played strong just like Argentina - tied it up and whipped some serious butt with the shoot out!!! I know it sucks for Argentina, but this happens more often than you think - and believe me.. about 30 years ago.. if it was still a tie after the shoot out of five shots each, they used to flip a coin to see who wins! Unbelievable!!

Argentina had possession of the ball much, much more than Germany. Argentina had a more in-your-face style and more shots-on-goal.

However, Argentina had two men booted from the game.

Both goals in regulation time were good.

By the time you get to penalty kicks, it's pretty much good luck. All of the penalty kicks looked good - but Lehmann stopped more than the other goalie.

Germany had a bad day. They can play better than they did...considering the amount of errors.

If Germany can beat Argentina on a bad day, than a normal or good day could be anybody...even Brazil.

The game was tough, 2 teams known to be good. Now, I believe the Arg. team was stronger. But, when you decide the winner by pennalty gols, it's a matter of luck.

They played well and attacked their opponents, defended well and did good, they did deserve to win. Argentina was a little too defensive.
