I'm not talking about technology, or medicine - But how we live and how we treat each other.

you can only answer....
have you made any significant progress in being a better man, yourself....?

have you made any progress?

as each individual betters themselves...in the ways you describe...
then mankind will benefit in the long run...
but we are only in control of one man..ourselves...
start there...

its like a avalanche.....it all starts with, one snowflake at a time

wtf is bettermen of man suppose to mean then. How we live and treat eachother is primarily based on our ability to communicate. (communicate feelings inside we dont really know)

I am saying Yes on this one... but only since the telephone. We are working towards a global society. Understanding others and identifying our own identities from the distinct differences between eachother. I guess im going to a very empirical level.

What makes this hard to see and understand... is that there is a dichotomy going on between the two classifications... The bad are getting worse and teh good are getting better... not much middle way... gray area...

How we live is primarily based on our ability ot pass down information to eachother... You are on a computer right now reading this... obviously we must be doing something right if you can find answers to questions across the whole world.

Goodluck,
M

I think so - if you read history, I believe you'll come to the conclusion that, although we still often treat each other shamefully, we seem to be getting more "civilized", at least in many parts of the world.
I've always liked Teilhard de Chardin's concept of "The Omega Point", though it could just be a fanciful notion.

The betterment of man is accomplished by one person at the time making a difference in his / her own environment.

Jesus Christ gave his life for the "betterment" of man. For over 2000 years, his sacrifice has made a difference.

AMEN?

i think have become better. if you look at our history, its bloody and full of suffering. i mean think about slavery and all.
you see, we have the idea of what humans should be, and its a good idea too. humans should be civilized which means that they should make everything in this world their personal responsibility. however there are many people that don't even know that or think this is not necessary. but like i said, at least we know it, which means when the time is right for us, we will take that step too.
