Yes. Having an A-List celebrity star in a movie or a popular athlete play on a sports team means a TON of revenue for that movie/team. A movie with George Clooney is going to gross WAY more in the box office that one with, say, Kathy Griffin. So they deserve the bug salary because they helped the producers make more money. Likewise, many more people went to see basketball games when Michael Jordan was playing. More fans = more tickets sold = more money for everyone.

humorous you should ask. Their salaries are straight away proportionate to the quantity money we shell out to be entertained. for instance, i'm a Dallas Mavericks fan, and we merely outfitted a clean section to play in. Amazingly adequate, the price ticket prices went up alot. I nonetheless flow to the video games, yet no longer close to as many. That, besides the undeniable fact that, does no longer end end them from promoting out each and every recreation. value hikes and revenues will proceed until eventually followers say adequate by utilizing no longer finding out to purchase the tickets. therefore, we are the reason behind those outrageous salaries.

In capitalism, it is supply and demand. They have the abilities and they can get that price. I would not control it because i think we need capitalism everywhere if we are going to have it. They are not worth it to me - i don't watch movies or TV or go to sports events so i'm not paying for their salaries. If people weren't willing to spring for expensive tickets, and watch the folks on TV those folks couldn't get paid.
