my horoscope says that a an aries qarius and libra are my beat friends, but i have a best friend my whole life and shes a cancer, how can horoscopes be right now?

An astrologer will tell you that the stars do not dictate, that they only influence our lives. As creatures of free will we do not have to follow our stars.
Whether the arrangement of the planets in the sky at the moment of our birth truly influences our life is difficult to say. It certainly is not supported by science, but my natal horoscope tends to describe the kind of person I am, my strengths and weaknesses, my preferences, though it is not exact.
So you have chosen a Cancer as a best friend. An astrologer would want to study her natal chart to determine if she has tendencies toward being an Aries, Aquarius or Libra (for example her rising sign). Even if she doesn't, they will say that you have exercised your free will.
Personally, I read my horoscope everyday, but that is more for entertainment purposes. I do not plan my life around what it says.

Sun signs are only one part of a horoscope. The sun is your basic drive.
But your ascendant, based on what time you were born, describes your personality and has as much importance on your life... maybe even more because it determines which houses the planets fall into in your chart. The houses are the areas of your life and the planets are your energies.
You moon sign is your psych/emotional needs. You and your best friend probably have compatible moons (emotions) and/or ascendants (personalities).
Horoscopes are as complex as people. Looking at just the sun signs works about as well as stereotypes.

Hey I'm a leo and my best friend is a leo she's 3 days older than me and we act just alike but with a few differences. My point is, is that if you follow your own personality you will make your own friends not just some of a particular group like libra

depends on who wrote tht horoscope....there r exceptions always..n did ur horoscope said thte a cancerian cannot b ur frnd??.....i guess it dint....whom u befriend depends more than just on signs,,,.it depends on physical proximity n similarity too....may b u dont live near an aries or an aqarius otherweise u wud have befriended him/her.

Horoscpes are kept vague and genralized so people could believe in it. Its not true, live life however you want to. dont go by any standards.
