My KAFOs go from my toes to my thighs, with hinges at the knee. Shoes have to be wide, fully enclosed sides, at least 1 strap/laces. I can't go barefoot. Boots are best as I usually use crutches but intend to walk down the aisle without (hanging on to my fatehr for dear life!). So far I have failed to find anything, apart from White DMs (would that work?) or plimsolls. I'd put pretty ribbon or something instead of laces. What do you think?

Aw, thanks guys! Also have to note I can't wear ballet shoes- they have to have a strong base, otherwise the KAFO soles flex and stab me in the feet. So I need the big flat soles to hold them down. They make me walk a bit like a spaceman. At school they said 'Run, Forrest, Run!' and pushed me, to taunt me, at which point I kicked them in the shins, with my DMs!

Congratulation on your wedding.
I wear AFOs on my feet. My braces hook are the kind with the caliper. I also have t-straps. When I got married. I bought some pretty satin material and made a boot to cover my legs. I covered them with lace and stones. My dress was covered in the same lace. For anyone looking it just looked like part of my dress.
I strongly suggest that you use a bench in your service since you are not using your canes. I did and it was beautiful. Once I got down to the end of the aisle and was handed to my groom we sat under the arch on a bench. It was picturesque and it kept me from falling.
Have fun and don't let your braces take away from your special day. Your groom will love you no matter what you wear.

I think it would cost a bundle to find, but a nice pair of Victorian-style walking boots would work, maybe in satin. I´m a huge fan of the line that English riding boots give you, and there are some made with a zip or lacing in the back if that´s a problem.
The more I think about it, you should find a shoemaker who can make you a set of elegant, classy white leather boots with a hidden zip on the side or lacing full down a side or back. That way, you´ll have the dimensions right, and the support of the boot. Ask around horse people for a good leathercraft boot guy who´s an artist. Remember: English boot, not cowboy.More feminine on the leg

Hopefully your dress is long. If so, I would wear tennis shoes or something comfy. The dress should be long enough to cover your feet anyway. And if they don't quite cover them, then you just made a fashion statement. Are people really looking at your feet anyway, no, I doubt it. You know everything in your wedding doesn't have to be dainty. Cute and casual is what I always do. Sometimes you try to go all out and it ends up getting messed up anyway. Good Luck and Congratulations!

The braces hook into your shoes right? So, you really have to stay with those shoes. Since they are comfortable and functional. I had 2 ideas. If you had an extra pair have them dyed the same color as your wedding gown and wear them on your wedding day, or wear a long gown that covers the shoes alltogether. I am sure you will look beautiful. Good luck.

Excellent idea with the DM's. Lace them with a pretty ribbon and maybe also go to a crafts store and get rhinestones or something equally cute to decorate them with. Personalize them and it will be perfect.
Good Luck! And congrats on the wedding!

Well, to be honest, don't stress over it. I know you want things to be perfect for your wedding, and I truly hope they are. But if you can't really find anything dainty, then do the best that you can. This isn't a perfect world, so don't expect everything to be perfect. Be well organized, have a back up plan and things should go smoothly. Remember, this is YOUR day, so take your time, plan things out completely, and finally, have a good time. I hope that your wedding and marriage becomes the envy of your friends. Best of luck to you.............

What about those style of shoes coverings that can be used when wearing a tuxedo? They are like a covering that goes over he shoe to dress it up. You can check on a place that speciallizes on toxedos or bridal shops and see if you can find what I'm talking about. It's like a "dress" for the show, it looks like a tuxedo and is very fancy, you can cover up your special shoes and make then look elegant and up to the ocassion.
Congrats and Good luck
