I want cable internet, but the apartment complex signed a contract with this cable provider that does not provide internet.

Either live with it or move. I use DSL and I'm perfectly happy with it. It's fast enough for me, most downloads only take a mintue to ten to download.

You're out of luck. You won't find a cable internet provider that will come into an apartment complex for one user - they will not be allowed to pull cable through the walls.

DSL is usually faster, and cheaper, anyway.

Move! The complex has made their choice to get in bed with a substandard cable provider and there is not much you can do about it.

if you can get cable there in your aparment call your cable company use them as your internet service provider

hmmm, I found dsl actually gave me better speeds than the cable company offered.Too many people using the cable bogged down it's speed.DSL is not bad at all.I get about 380kbs with it and it toally blows away dial up.
