Christian fundamentalism. Americans are a lot more uptight about such things than most of the rest of the world. Our (American's) adherance to religious doctrine served us well through the developmental stages of our country, but I feel that we're getting to the time where we should probably start thinking for ourselves a bit more.

USA has committed a serious human right offense. While US always looks down on other countries who do have questionable reputation for human rights, the US itself has discriminated the GLBT community. In fact, discriminating gays and lesbians cuts accross sex, ethnicity, race, social and economic status.

It is so shameful that the US would go all the way to even try to LEGISLATE INEQUALITY in their federal law. This is something that makes me rather upset. What happened to the very simple slogan 'equality for all'? I guess as George Orwell said, "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".

By the way, it is not that we cannot stand the heat, it is just that the kitchen is seriously rotting and that only those people who really care will point it out. The ignorant ones will say that mouldy kitchen is a God blessing :-).

it's probably because we were started by a group of people who fled from england because they were afraid of religious presecution. most of europe considered the purtians way too conservertive for the time, and when they came to this country, they lied down the foundations that this country was built on.
is this an ancient way of thinking? yes. does this make america as progressive as most of the world? no. does this give the religious right the right to control the government and big business? no. but until we as a community are willing to pull our funds together and stand up for not only our rights, but the future of others in our community, we won't be like the rest of the world.

Probably because it's just not the norm. The same if an 80 year old man was making out with an 18 year old. Some things are just strange to some.

Because Americans are ignorant about a lot of things. We're not the only ones, I mean, look at some of the countries in the middle east, where women are still treated as property. We're ahead of them somewhat....but not by that much.

America is always one step behind and a dollar short on social issues..... We are more concern about Bin Laden, why Star Jones is off The View, are Britney and her first kid going to make it through marriage, and my favorite, when the hell is Bush getting out of the White House.... enough already.

Have you ever heard the expression, "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen"?

I'm so sick of people bashing Americans. If it's so bad here than, get the FU*K out and move to the land of Milk & Honey. Move in with your inclusive northern neighbors, Move to Denmark, go somewhere else. I'm sure you can get a federal grant to get the hell out if you can't stand it here, Americans are tired of terrorist who bash every single solitary move they make...GET OUT and STAY OUT...for crying out loud.

It is not the norm , but I feel that it is total ignorance. People should be able to be with whomever they choose. What happens to them in the end is their business. No one has to live your life but yourself. Society has a problem with everything. Short people should'nt date tall people. Why not? Who gives society the right choose everything for everyone.

I feel that if these people are religious then that could their reasoning. Otherwise, the other's are just afriad of the unknown, or even something that they feel they might be inclined to do themselves. It is NOT our job to judge. Only one person has that job and last I knew ,He no longer walks this sad planet of ours....

Well, what do you want from a nation that was founded by persons who were forced out of Europe for their religious beliefs?
