Hi, my name is Hank. I have been reading and watching SciFi for fifty years. I am very tired of having to watch horror represented as Science Fiction. SciFi is a noble and lofty genre. It deserves better than what NBC has reduced it to.

It is my opinion if enough of you fans send me your concerns about it, NBC will listen. Without us fans, it will be difficult for NBC to garner the sponsorship required to misrepresent SciFi the way they are. Without SciFi purists, like us, NBC will cram whatever they can down our throats trying to pass it off for SciFi.

Without SciFi, we wouldn't have probes going outside our solar system. Without the genre of Science Fiction, we might yet be looking up at the moon in superstitous awe wondering if it really was made of green cheese.

Have you ever wondered what our world would be like without SciFi? I have. So if you care about this noble genre, please send me your concerns. I will present them to NBC on your behalf.

hey hank! i so completely agree with you, some of the movies arn't too bad but some are just ridiculous and and they replay them over and over. i looooooove stargate SG1 and stargate Atlantis myself. i'm patiently awaiting the new season shows.
i sent SciFI a complaint email, ofcourse i did not recieve a response, and my complaint was, what the hell is this new wrestling ecw show doing on scifi!!!!! i hate wrestling and if i wanted to watch it in a moment of madness i'd switch to spike tv or something. i told them to get that crap off off my scifi channel!
and that they need to fire the twit that came up with that idea!!
i love the scifi channel most of the time though and if all i had was the scifi channel i would be content although if they continue to put more crap on i will have to watch elsewhere.
thanks for your question! Mikala

ps. PLEASE present away and if you need more from me i'd be happy to oblige. i've always wondered what horror had to do with scifi anyway??. do they have to ruin everything. it was bad enough when Firefly was cancelled, i really liked that show, the movie was great!
keep up the good work for those that probably don't have the contacts you do.(i cant even get an email response)
feel free to email a fellow scifi fan

I am in total agreement with you! I must say I was unaware that NBC owned the SciFi channel, I knew they, (SciFi), were affiliated with USA network.
I have been a lifelong SciFi fan! As a kid my favorite movies were all of the "space" movies, I loved them all even the very "campy" ones. Though I apparently am at odds with a lot of other fans about "Battlestar Galactica", I think the new series is just wrong. In my opinion they took a great series and ruined it! Starbuck had a gender change and I don't even want to talk about Boomer!
The influx of horror movies has been a real thorn in my side! Then to add insult to injury they put on that LAME CRAP WRESTLING! I guess thier feeling is it is fiction, and a science of sorts. SciFi was and is my favorite channel, but it started going downhill and is slipping away fast! Adding wrestling to the lineup has only increased the downward spiral of a once fantastic channel! At one time you could almost guarantee that the SciFi channel would be on my TV at any given time. The time it is on now has slipped considerably. Now I mainly have it on for the Stargate shows. I have always loved Dr. Who and used to watch it on PBS, the new Dr Who is entertaining, though I have a few problems with the slant it has taken, but overall I like it. Putting wrestling on SciFi brings to mind another network that ruined Monday Night Football by putting a comedian in the commentary booth.

alot of gothic tales are scifi, and maybe you could include with your petiton of concerned sci fi fans some actual alternatives and titled of films or tv shows , like Metropolis, for example that you would like to view, mayvbe the station programmer or whoever makes these decisons has no clue as to how to fill up all the time and picks horror, cause, not only had no one complained but has a competence issue and doesn't know what he or she is doing, also, your petiton should be nider than my response because argumentem ad hominem gets you no where fadt, those are my concernd my friend and I will gladly add my name to whatever online or real petition you come up with, it is refreshing to see someone become an active participant in resolving their issues versus a whiner who ids part o9f the problem, thank you for your example of effective behavior.

initially, enable's merely make clean that you're the cutest, damn fuzzy element I ever talked about. And secondly, i hit upon the swap to 'syfy' to be against the law adverse to nature and humanity. My roommate claims that is because they needed to lose a letter contained in the abbreviation, yet I nonetheless safeguard that scfi is way, far better than syfy.
