Most of the people who have answered this question so far have made really good suggestions...Angela's Ashes, Pride and Prejudice, Half Magic, Judy Blume books are all suggested by others and I must agree are books that i have enjoyed myself...one book that i thought was one of the best that i have read was To Kill A Mockingbird, its by Harper Lee and it really is a true classic..it teaches a lot about the human nature but in a very non-philosophical and interesting way.

The book I love the most is Where The Red Fern Grows. I can't think of the author right now. The summers best read so far is Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich. ILmao through out the book. Beach Road by James Patterson was also very good.

The Bible, authors are people that were led by the Holy Spirit. Receive a lot of knowledge and understanding from it. God speaks to us through his word. Best book out there ha ha

I have several favorites. "Watchers" by Dean Koontz, it's really good, like almost life changing. All of Koontz's books are kinda sci-fi ish but they have deep morals to the story. They're not dumb tho, very good. the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich like "Three to Get Deadly" or "Hard Eight". All those are extremely good, she's a bounty hunter and always manages to get in some sticky situations, and her cars are always being destroyed. It's good for humor... And "The Guardian" by Nicholas Sparks. It made me cry!!! I love it soo much, and it really gets your attention about life and the power of love. Plus now I want a great dane... Hope you like them!

Definitely read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand then, because it is the greatest book ever written, and is not only interesting but is sure to change your perspective on life.

Your question sounds simple but I find it hard..So Many!
A very dear book is Half Magic by Edward Eager. It's about 4 children who find a special coin. Published by Harcourt Brace Jovanovich. This is a winner.
