Leinart has the best chance out of all of the rooks to make the highest impact in his rookie campaign. Kellen Clemens is worth noticing as he's the one most likely to start and play effectively. Clemens is very much like Jay Cutler. Clemens is tough, shockingly mobile, has a strong arm and even is as big of a risktaker as JCut. Croyle, like said, is worth noticing but behind that OL? Green will be healthy all year probably and Huard is still above Croyle on the depth chart. VY won't and shouldn't play in his rookie campaign as well as Tarvaris Jackson.
AJ Hawk is the safest bet to do great as he's pretty much the most complete LBer (nothing outstanding, mind you) but he's efficient. Addai/Bush will be the other two offensive players looking to make a huge impact out of the backfield. If DeShaun Foster goes down, I expect DeAngelo to be this year's Cadillac Williams (i.e. ROTY if he gets the chance early on).
Vernon Davis is going to be a freak this year at times, but will have some minor inconsistency. Leonard Pope was a huge steal in the 3rd round, he's huge, possesses great hands and is a great blocker. People had him going as high as #24 before Draft Day.
Others to keep watch of; Mike Haas (NO), Michael Huff (OAK), Mario Williams (HOU), Manny Lawson (SF) and Chad Jackson (NE)

The focus of this draft will be on RBs more than QBs and WRs, even though there are a couple standouts at those positions. I believe that there will actually be better standouts in the lower drafted players than in the high profile ones.
While everyone is looking at Leinart, Young, and Cutler ... I say Croyle in Kansas City will become a QB worth watching.
Vernon Davis will be the TE everyone is aware of, but Leonard Pope will become the next "prototype" TE ... even obscuring Davis, Lewis, and Byrd.
Defensive rookies will need to make an immediate impact if they are going to be noticed against a more actively scrutinized offensive rookie class. Hawk may lead the way, but Greenway and Hati could emerge as better defensive players, even overshadowing Mario Williams in Houston.

I don't believe there will be a Rothlesberer in this draft, but I will be looking for guys like Vernon Davis, A.J. Hawk, and Vince Young to assert themselves and get their feet wet. They'll probably play the most out of anybody in the whole first round considering their current situations.

I.M.O., this year's Instant Impact rookies will be A.J. Hawk on defense and Joseph Addai on offense. Both will be put in a position to excel from the get go.
