Please tip the pizza delivery driver

This is a public service announcement from tipthepizzaguy.com. What some folks don't understand is that delivery people are paid a very low amount. It is expected that they will receive tips and whatever they get belongs to them. Please, if you can afford $16 for pizza, you can surely pay the delivery person $2.50 for bringing it to your door. The driver is, in essence, your waiter on wheels. They use their own car. They work hard to give you the convenience of delivery to your door and take on added costs because of the job. Since you appreciate the service, please tip the driver.
The customary tip is
•15% or $2, whichever is greater
•20%+ for excellent service
•less for poor service, such as 5% or 10%
•slightly more in bad weather and for distances over 3 miles from the store
The tip is not included in the bill and it is not covered by a delivery charge if the store has one. For more information about this and pizza delivery in general

remember none tippers not that I do this or think it is ok The driver does control your food- alone- between the store and your house and they DO remember who doesn't tip.

Please. If you are going to mention the cost of using your car, you have to tell the folks that is what the added delivery cost that you receive is for, but you are right, it shouldn't make up for the tip. However, unless you make the $2.13 an hour that a real waitress does, be happy with any tip that you receive.

I'm a pizza delivery person. There are a lot of people who don't tip. There are also a lot of people who do NOT turn on their porch light at night so that I can find there house. There are a lot of people who wait until I get to their door, and then try to find their check book, or count out their change so they can pay. There are also a lot of people who I have to call and ask them to please answer their door. Often times, I get as a tip what's left over from a dollar. Sometimes, I will get an $18 CHECK for a $17.94 order -- Six whole scents.

I tip at least $5, my porch light is always on, and I always have my money ready for the driver.

My company has a $2 delivery charge. I get 95 cents per delivery to help cover gas. I use my own car, too.

I own a small business and as soon as that's making enough money, I'm going to quit deliverying pizzas.

I have always tipped my pizza driver the change and 3.00 minimum depending on the size of the order. My pizza driver is just like the mail carrier. No matter what the weather they are there.

Also, if it's raining or snowing I invite them in if I don't have the money ready.

if it's just one or two pizzas, i usually tip 5 dollars. i've tipped 15 when i ordered a bunch of pizza for a party.. like 75 dollars worth.. i've never not tipped.. even if he's late or the pizza order is wrong... it's not always the delivery guys fault

I always tip and I try to do it in cash even if I use a card so the entire amount goes right in the guys pocket.

Here is a tip a better job is in order. That is to say one where you do not depend on tips. Tips are not required by law are given as a way to compensate you for your service. There is no requirement for tip save at the buyers option I.E. if the buyer is willing to tip. I personally have stopped eating at restaurant's where the wait staff is demanding of large tip when they in fact provided horrible service.
