The time involved and the lack of speed and bandwith (as well as the danger to your server) is no where near worth the $60 dollars per year you would save. Stick with hosting @ GoDaddy. Their hosting is only around $3-$4 per month.

Configure DNS Server on your machine. Host the site on IIS on your Windows 2003. Enter DNS information on your account in GoDaddy.

Install IIS
Run IIS
Setup IIS

But I would make CERTAIN you have a static IP from your cable provider, if you are not paying for one, you don't have one, it just might be the same for weeks/months and then reset on its own. If you don't have a static IP don't worry, try no-ip.com their free (or pay service if you wish) will allow you to accomplish this task.

If you do not know what IIS is, you definitely need to do some research it is Microsofts definitive Webserver software, and it runs very well on Win2003 server.

Most residential cable subscription do not allow you to setup a server due to the bandwidth it sucks from other subscribers. Once you get caught, and it will not be long, then you risk loosing all internet service or being moved to a commercial account at significant additional cost. When you can get webhosting for so cheap, why bother?

Just remember, upload rates are significantly slower than download rates on home cable connections, so performance will not be great for people accessing your host.
