There have been three movies by that name, and one remake coming up in 2007.
I think I can assume you're not talking about the one that was made in 1908, and it's probably not the one made in 1940, so you must be talking about the one made in 1960, right?
Or is there a possibility this was a made-for-TV movie? There was one in 1958.
There was also The New Swiss Family Robinson made in 1998, but I wouldn't think you mean that one.

Oh! What a nostalgic thing I have experienced now after so many years of absence. You are right that it was sometimes in 1960s that we saw this movie either in cinema hall or in black & white TV. Thanks for sharing.
By the way, do you remember The Waltons and such TV serials of 1970s? Our whole family loved that and we were content seeing the lifestyle of that family possibly covering events of 'great depression'. Sorry for the digression, but could not help check my feeling for the good old movies.

It's the classic family oriented adventure film in the mold of Robinson Crusoe, released in the early sixties. Probably the original "survivor" film . Great for kids, feel good movie. Available in Walmart, Netfix

I absolutely remember Swiss Family Robinson. It was one of my favorites growing up. I use to wish I could live in a tree house just like the one in the movie.

Of course I remember it. That crazy race with one of them riding an ostirch. You can find it at Wal-Mart or anywhere that Disney movies are sold.

There were two made. One had a young Kurt Russell in it along with the blonde detective from Hawaii Five-O, and the other was made even before that one.

try looking on ebay as well. You may be able to get it there cheaper. I read the book, and did see part of the movie, but not the whole thing.

You can find it on disney.videos, or The Disney Movie Club. We have this movie and my four children love it with the animals and pirates.
