Why do you mention about cheatiing. Who accused them of cheating. Argentina were the better side in the first half but Germany defended brilliantly. Bad substitutions from the Argentinians gave Germany the initiative and Germany responded well after going one goal down. It was a classic football match. At the end Germany deserved the win.

Germany didn't kick butt...they only kick goalkeepers. (Hello? The score was 1-1 at the end of extra time. That's not exactly "kicking butt", considering how superior you all thought Germany was.)
It's not the Germans' fault if FIFA is corrupt and the ref is biased, I suppose, but they got extremely lucky. The ref didn't card a lot of things (like the foul on Abbondanzieri), and he made up fouls like crazy. They were worthy opponents and the most exciting match so far, but...it wasn't the cleanest (and I'm not saying Argentina was completely innocent, either).

Oh, ur rite... they didn't cheat, they were just extremely lucky. Wen the German player kneed Argentina's goalkeeper, tht shud hav been a yellow card. the ref was way more lenient towards the Germans and the Argentine's got really annoyed with the way the Germans were going on after the match. BTW, Germany was actually invovled in a match-fixing scandal, so u neva kno...

Seriously, people, grow up. Germany didn't cheat. Why is everyone getting so damned touchy about this match in particular?? I wanted Argentina to win too, but they just didn't do it. Get over it.
And to agree with another answerer, they did play fairer than Argentina. Again, I was rooting for Argentina until I started seeing their elbows flying all over the place..

Fans of all sports seem to be clinging more and more to the whole "conspiracy theory" notion and the "cheating" notion just because their own team lost a close or perhaps controversial game. What's done is done...Germany deserved their victory. People need to get over it.

Oliver Bierhoff was shown on TV handing the referees a big bag with $$$ sign on it at the end of the match. That's when the argentinians figured out they were cheated on.

Germany did not cheat - they got lucky... that's all. Argentina was more aggressive , yes, esp. in first half - but they are dirty players and horrible actors (esp. Ayala) so they certainly deserved to go home. Better for Brasil !
