Where can I find a peruvian guinea pig ?

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a peruvian guinea pig I can't seem to find any in New York. Do anyone have or know of someone who have one and willing to sale it to me?

I don't think anyone here understands what a Peruvian guinea pig is. Peruvians won't be found in pet stores. They're too much grooming and time to deal with in quantity. There's the standard and satin varieties

Guinea Pigs all originate from Peru. Go to the local pet store, look in a cage and there is a Peruvian guinea pig.
Are you refering to the way the fur swirrles around on them. Ask at a pet store for the kind you want and they can find one for you.

My first pig was a peruvian! I adored her. I bought her at Pet Supplies Plus in Mansfield, Ohio. It is hard to find them, trust me. Some small pet stores actually breed the different breeds of guinea pigs. My suggestion is to call around to different pet stores and ask if they carry them or know anyone that does.

In Peru, they are a dietary staple ... like chickens. In New York, they are just "cavis". But all are the Andean rodent that squeaks and purrs.

that's wierd. i had 2 and i bought them at a local pet store. i don't have them anymore but at the time they seemed pretty easy to find. this was in hawaii so i don't know about new york. i hope you find one they are soooooo cute
