The world will not end in peace nor will it end in war. It will end in apathy and indifference which will create the period of homeostasis necessary to facilitate the end of the Earth through the course of 'nature', or the end of fuel for our Sun. Sometime around 5 billion years from now. Of course, human life will be completely different at that point.

There is, within the most evil of us, the inherit ability to trust that destroying all life (or risking it) is the least effective way to win on any side of a conflict. It's just plain stupid to risk using a weapon or war to the point that it may destroy us all. The idea was threatening enough -- "the Cold War."

I do not think so - but I do think we will continue to have what are called "spot wars" - areas of the world in violent conflict - i.e. Israeli/Palestinian conflict, Middle East insurgencies, wars like Vietnam, Bosnian/Serbian conflict - etc.

With global communication comes the ability to be aware of world issues, and to try (through UN, for example) to diffuse the issues before they become pandemic, or world-wide.

I don't foresee a World War 3 - spot wars will be the predominant type of conflict.

Dear demachelles,

I do not have the space here to give you all the information but let me have you type www.familyradio.com into your web browser. From everything we see in the Bible, it looks like the end of the world will be in 2011.
