ELOPE! saves lots of money then have a nice dinner about a month later for your friends. At $30 per plate you can feed a lot of people on a tight budget.

I got married at the Justice Of Peace. I was active in the military and wanted make it official before I got to my permanent duty station so my now husband and I just did it that way. Both our parents were there. We figured if our marriage lasted we would have something at our five year mark. Our five year mark is this December and it is going to be more like a formal celebration of our marriage/ reception. But we are going through the details just as you would a wedding. I have dress picked out and everything. I am glad we took this route cause a lot of people I know had the whole wedding shabang and now their divorced. And we are much happier that our 3 year old and 1 year old can be apart of celebration of 5 years and many more to come.

Don't go my route if it is not in you hearts desire, but I hope it helps you get closer to deciding!

You can get married down at your local court house. It probably costs somewhere around $100. Then you can have a real nice reception somewhere. have cake, ice cream and some punch with some nice entertainment. Some places like banquet halls and recreational parks rent for a couple of hundred. And then all you will need to do is pay for some entertainment or bring your stereo and have fun dancing. For decoration you can get some balloons and some streamer. Viola are married and have a nice reception for approx $300-500.
As far as your clothing, then it can cost a lot of money. Look at the mall they may have discounted prom dresses you can use for as a wedding dress. but it gets costly You can also check online stores like therosedress.com. Just take your time in getting married. If your going to get married then it shouldn't be a problem to wait and get married, he is still going to be there just as you are.
Good luck

Shop around your venues, limit your guest numbers(why invite aunt jan and aunties dog and the cousing of the dog, and the dogs groomer?), and think about short cuts like the transport, maybe you know someone with a really nice car to take you to the wedding instead of hiring a car for £250 plus. Check out the sale racks in the bridal dress shops, some of them are just as beautiful, because theyre on sale, doesnt mean something wrong with it. Allocate your budget to different sections of the wedding and you should still be able to have the wedding you want.

I got married in my family's beautiful backyard. I had about 25 guests, we made the food, except for the cake. I had the dress, my sister made the flower arrangements, the favors (not cheap looking a nice little weaker basket looked like a trunk with lid and clasp) which we pasted a poem on the inside of the lid and them filled with candy. Total cost of the wedding was about $4000.00 It can be done, be creative, don't do things to make others happy, and keep it simple.

It's easy as long as your willing to be creative and to compromise. We had friends to arrange things as wedding gifts. A neighbour made the cake, a friend with a large white car took me to the reception, a friend of my husband's videoed it for us, one friend took all the photo's and gave us a beautifully set out album as our gift. We had three local bands play the wedding reception (also mates) a florist friend arranged all the flowers and a friend who was studying hair and beauty did my make up on the morning.
I suppose you also need a lot of talented and generous friends, but we were really lucky and it was a lovely day without the hassle of giant bank loans to face after the honeymoon.
Good Luck!

skip the dinner. My close friend got married in the evening and followed it up with cocktails. Later in the evening there were sandwiches but nothing over the top. It was still very formal but just held later in the evening. And think you wouldn't need to get up at the crack of dawn to get ready, have a nice relaxing day, ceremony at 7-8pm and cocktails for 9pm....it was one of the best weddings I have ever been to

Get the dress on EBay get your friends to provide a dish each for the reception and have it as a picnic. After all you dont need lots of toasters do you. Do your own flowers its not hard..Cos you need to ensure you have saved enough for the divorce should things go really wrong
