yes. Did you wash the rock before you put it in? A lot of times when you buy new gravel it's best to put it in a vegetable collander and rinse it well before you put it in the tank. This cleans off any residue from the factory that could be harmful to your fish.

That's not good. Why change the gravel? Once the fish are doing well, never change all the water. Leave some and replace only about a third max at each time. Keep doing this until the acetone smell goes away.

acetone is bad for the fish. you should only put products that are sold as aquarium safe in your tank. You should not change the gravel either. It screws up the biological filtration.

Yes.
You need to rinse the gravel in sieve until water runs clear. Time consuming but worth it.
You may still get a slight wiff but should not cause problems.
