That is what it is supposed to be, however from what I have seen it is usually the other way around.....

Well, there's the idea, which is why jury selection is so important. It's a tall order to find relatively unopinionated, arbitrary individuals who are willing to listen to facts, then to make an impartial judgment on them.

Man, I hate to be so cynical, but no, I guess there's probably not. Everything's so sensationalist, now, and there are so many alleged roots and causes of unlawful behavior. People are able to get incredible amounts of information of varied dispositions... how could anyone be a blank slate walking into a court room?

absolutely. THe American Criminal Justice is system is based upon that thought. In a criminal court case (not civil) the burden of proof lies with the prosecution, meaning they have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the alleged perpetrator is guilty. The defense actually does not have to say anything during the trial if they believe there is not ebough evidence against the defendant.

No, it's guilty until proven innocent. At least here in america.

only on paper and on t.v. I was arested once because I was stopped walking downtown asked my name gave it 3 months later arrested spent over 1 year proving I didnt commit the crime . just because I was around the area doesnt make me guilty a jury agreed.

well, you are innocent in the sense that you're not being convicted, but most criminal defendants are treated more as criminals than innocents.
