The world has always been going down the drain, and yet, people are still around, living longer and more healthily and with practical wealth of which even olden kings could only dream, at least in Western nations.

1) Population out of control;
2) Educational level has dropped in the U.S. like a rock;
3) Common everyday manners now unknown.

My quick assessment says: U.S. getting wedged into the well-known basket, being readied for departure.

Then again, it has pretty much been going down the drain since Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit...(Or since the dawn of time, for non-Christians...)
