I do believe in them, because in the end, the people count, not their races. My mom would probably have a heart attack if I were to date an Afro-American! Still, you do not live, love, befriend a color, race or religion, you live with, love, befriend a person!!!

When breeding animals, it is important to preserve some pure original stock, it is also important to cross-breed, because although original stock is usually superior in their original environment, they are often less suitable to new environments.
The same way, I belive the more "original peoples" can be kept, the better. Keep a few pure-blood japanese, huang, inuit, yannomami, pict, gaul, and !kung people around if possible. No one is better at living in alaska than someone whose bloodline has roots there for ten thousand years.
But it would be stupid to JUST keep original people without letting new mixes happen. That would be bad for the survival of humanity, because the same inuit (eskimo) bloodline would not do nearly as well in sadui arabia.
Original stock also breeds best with like partners. Although the difference is small, I'll bet there are more birth defects, complications, and genetic health problems in first-generation mixed race persons than in nonmixed persons....although part of this rate would be due to a lower incidence of double fatal-recessive genes such as tay-sachs.
For a good idea of what I mean, imagine a chihuaha mating with a saint bernard.
Still, it is excellent to get new mixes, because traits that are overall of more general utility will rise to the surface. In the long-term (10 generations or so) , I expect cross-breeds would become better off genetically speaking than original stock.
So the short answer is, yes, inter-racial relationships are excellent...but some number of people should stay within their race to preserve the bloodline.

Let's get this straight... There is only one race, it's the HUMAN race. A woman is a woman whether she is Hispanic or not. You date who you want to and you love you who want to.
Your Mom is from a previous generation and that is what is making it difficult for her to understand. She was raised and lived by the rules of that time.
Please be understanding to her and when you talk do not use any disrespect. But you will have to tell her that you do not see color you see people.

Hey I figure that you are lucky if you find just one love because we all have issues. However being a black woman I can understand where your mom is coming from. I live in Portland, Or where the black men here seem to be running to anything and everyone who is not black. It is so bad here that I and many of my friends who are black women are shocked when we see a black couple. We actually call each other up and say, "Girl, I saw a black couple in the mall, at the store, at school or etc, etc.." It's that bad. It certainly has had an effect on me and how I view black men. I don't even try to date black men and neither do many of my friends because we don't think that they want us. It's that bad here but to each his own.

I think your mom was wrong, she wouuldn't like if u date a white girl and her parents called you black right? I think the skin color is just another treat that makes us unique. But this has nothing to do with love, when you love someone is for the person inside not for the outside. We are all humans and it would be quite boring if we were the same color.

My fiance is hispanic and I am white. We love eachother so much that it doesn't matter the color of our skin. It shouldn't matter to anyone. I have dated black guys before and I think EVERYONE seemed to be offended by that, but I am not sure why.

Even though I won't date outside of my race, I do believe in interracial relationships. You can't choose who you love.

I don't think it matters what color or race you are as long as the people are happy. And they must be compatible. What's race got to do with it?
