midol...it doesn't work for me..i have to take extra-strength tylenol...and just so you know, I'm on the pill and it didn't help with my cramps. If you are sexually active though, I suggest you get on the pill and do it quick. If you don't want to get on the pill and midol/tylenol don't work for you, I suggest having your gynocologist prescribe some vicodin for you, but most people end up becoming addicted to vicodin.

There are all natural pills available for cramping that are made from plants. You can get them at a health food store or Walgreen's may carry them. The first one is called Evening Primrose and the other is called Black Cohash. I got my first period at the age of 9 followed by intense cramping. Midol and many other over the counter remedies never helped me until I was told of these 2 natural remedies. Good Luck hope this is helpful for you too.

Taking ibuprofen at the very first sign of cramping...which i would cramp before my bleeding begins...will help contol cramping during menses. A nurse practitioner told me that antiinflammatory drugs help decrease the prostaglandin that is released in the brain that causes cramping and remember this needs to be taken with food and every six to eight hours as directed on the bottle...missed dosages could cause intermittent cramping.

if you know when ur period is going to be coming around, try to avoid salty foods for a week before, usually that helps a bit, like french fries loaded with salt or whatever, ive read that somewhere and ive noticed it helps a bit.
