What happens if a woman is pregnant, doesn't know about it and drinks a lot of diet soda, is taking diet pills, well not taking the proper care of a pregnant woman. If she continues with this diet and taking the pills for like 2 noths until she finds out about the pregnancy, will it do permanent harm to the baby?

Actually, you have no need to worry. Nature has its way of taking care of things. Depending on what kind of pills you have taken, I wouldn't worry about it. I once knew a woman who was pregnant for 12 weeks before she knew...and drank a couple alcoholic drinks every day. Her baby is a very pretty and intelligent little angel!

By the way, diet soda will NOT harm the baby. You should avoid non-nutritive foods while pregnant. But, when the craving hits, it's better to do the diet than regular (save the calories for a yogurt or fruits).

not at all, birth control will not harm a baby. All birth control is estrogen. Estrogen is a natural hormone that is already in your body. Its cannot increase the risk of fetal defect, though you should stop taking them, obviously they are useless. They say that soda is not good for you but again it will not cause a fetal defect. Any other medications that you might not have mentioned, that you may think is serious, should be address to a doctor.

Probably... she should tell her doctor what she's been doing, and see what the doctor says, and they will monitor the pregnancy so they can find out if any serious damage has been caused.
