I have done weight watchers, and I know in my head theoretically what to do to loose weight. If i spend the money at a nutritionist is it going to be new information, or same stuff. Will I get a fresh take on food? thanks for any help.

it depends. if you have an eating disorder or a serious diease seeing one might be in order. or even if you feel really stressed and think its the result of a poor diet. try eating properly on your own first but they can help with dieting.

Spend the money. You will unfortunately feel ripped off at first. They will tell you what you already know. But a lot of people need to hear it from an expert before it actually sinks in. Also spend some more money and get a personal trainer...preferably one who works with or close to the nutritionist. The two of them along with your doctor should all work together and provide each other with information on what each wants and what the other is doing. Also when you get at Nutritionist or a PT check credentials! You wouldn’t go to a doctor who wasn’t licensed by a valid medical school would you? My long standing preferred is ACE (American Council of Exercise) ACE works with the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) a leader in up to date nutrition and training. ACSM also does continuing research in preventative sports medicine, chronic diseases, training, recovery and many other areas relating to sports medicine. Both groups ensure that their trainers are insured and have continuing education (what applied ten years ago may not be true today as ongoing research leads to new discoveries). ACE is the most widely recognized and is not limited by state or provincial boundaries (in Canada & USA). Most people do not realize that PT and nutritionists may have certification in one state/province, but it may be localized specifically to that area, and their insurance will not cover them outside that area. Ask for credentials and ask for proof of insurance.

Save your money and focus instead on eating properly and exercising. A healthy diet includes plenty of veggies, fruits, lean meats and poultry, lean fish, and whole grains. Here in Canada we have a Food Guide that gives us the information on how much of each group we should eat. If you have one in the US, I'd get a copy and strive to follow it.

I myself know what i need to do to lose the weight and steel wish for some miracle pill. But I guess skipping all the fast food will do the trick that is what made me gain all the weight in the first place.
