Koufax. Hands down. Put the ball in the hands of one of the best big-game pitchers in history, unless that day happens to be Yom Kippur. During the years of Koufax's dominance, he was practically untouchable, especially in the pitcher-friendly confines of Dodger Stadium.

Bob Gibson would be next on the list if Koufax ran into trouble, then Clemens. It's nothing against Clemens at all, but I just don't feel that he's not the top choice of who you should give the ball to in a big-game situation.

Wonderful question! I've seen all three, Koufax at the end of his career. Gibson had no problem knocking you on your *** if you were digging in and Clemens isn't called the Rocket for nothing. But if you're talking hypotheticals, each man in his prime, with his best stuff. I'd have to choose Sandy over Bob. Koufax not only has a blazing fastball and pinpoint control, he had a 12 to 6 curve that would buckle your knees.

Roger Clemens. He has a ton of World Series experiance and is one of the best pitchers ever - even when the balls, bats, and ballpaks all favor the hitters. When Gibson and Kofax played, baseball favored the pitchers. Clemens is also a great clutch pitcher - Pitching in the 7th game wouldnt faze his stuff at all. The Rocket all the way

Bob Gibson. In his prime, he was the most dominant pitcher in the game. He pitched the 7th game in the 1967 series, and won. I don't think that either Koufax or Clemens actually won a 7th game in the World Series.

what era? If its todays era you go with Clemens. If its back in the day when pitchers were allowed to use brush back pitches and umpires called strikes from the letters to the knees like they are supposed to...go with Gibson.

Bob Gibson, Koufax 2nd. I saw them both pitch many times.
Gibson was absolutely nasty.

I'd start Gibson. Koufax would be a very close second.
