Being different to me is something good, why is that, all the people who's name are notable are people who made a differences e.g. Ford, Bill Gates, Wilbur and Orville Wright, Einstein etc are all people who invented one thing or the other due to the fact that they choose to think in a different way and friends and relatives labeled them as outcast. Socrates dead for his ideologies so did Galileo, the list is endless.
It easy for other to point out their views and want it to be generally accepted by all not considering myriads of opinions.
Our Lord Jesus Christ was different when He walked on earth, he was treated as an outcast by His own people "can any thing good come out of Nazareth " but because of His love for us and the difference He made we have the greatest gift of all. The gift of salvation. If your friends’ don’t understand why you think the way you do, there is no problem about that, and no one understood why Jesus related with sinner instead of rich merchants.
The truth is that until your friends take the steps, walk the path you are walking now they will never see what you are seeing the Bible say in 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! You are beginning to renew your self in Christ and your former self is finding it hard to live with it.
You may eventually loose your friends due to your new stand this are some of the sacrifices we must pay to walk with Christ.
Hold fast to your fate and the Lord will be with you every step you go.
Wishing you the best.

As long as you can defend your ideas and you believe in them, don't worry about it. I know it's hard to not be accepted as you are, but there will always, I mean ALWAYS, be people who don't agree with you, and some won't be nice about it.

Think about why you believe the things you do, and keep those thoughts in your mind when you want to defend your opinions and beliefs. Most people will respect you for being yourself as long as 1 - you have something to back up your opinion, and 2 - you are willing to listen to their opinions.

If someone can't agree to live-and-let-live, then you need to get them out of your life. There are people who aren't happy unless everyone around them agrees 100%. You will be a much better person for getting different perspectives on situations. It's priceless when you are out on your own and have to make important decisions.

I'm just guessing, but everyone thinks the way they live is right, that is why they are living that way. Now you bring something different to the table and it's human nature to reject it. That is why people need education, to better understand that one way is not always the only way. If people open their hearts and minds, they will learn so much more about life, and it's a short trip, so try to have fun.

I have spent my whole life defending my own style and beliefs. I know where your coming from. Everyone has the right to believe what they will. Even if we know they are wrong. There will come a time when what everyone else thinks of you won't matter to you at all. Always be true to yourself. You don't want to have any regrets when you come to the end of your first journey.

Instead of defending your ideas, next time defend yourself. Tell your friends that your opinions are important to you, and if they can't accept you the way you are, they need to stop trying to change you and find a new friend that fits with what they're looking for.

It's the "herd mentality" that's been programmed into us.

Humankind needed it at one point to survive but now it's just abused by religion, politics and advertising.

Just be yourself and be happy with it, there are many others in the world who feel the same way and more are coming around to that point of view slowly but surely.

Because people are afraid of change. They're stuck in their own little world. Besides if they don't accept you then you must find someone who will accept you for who you are. And if you don't find anyone you must stand for what you think is right.... Even if you are alone... Which happends to be my case so I understand...

It's plain and simple that you can't please everyone. Just do what you want, dress the way you want, talk the way you want live the way you want. You're not living for other people's comfort anyway, be yourself and don't let anybody else change you as long as the way you are makes you happy.

You should never have to defend yourself w/your so called friends, friends are kind of like flowers, when they can't accept you for who you are, weed them out...trust me you'll find friends that will accept you as you are...
